After client resigned from the job, Client's 401k directly transferred to IRA with a Brokerage firm. Client received 1099-R from his employer, Is this need to be entered anywhere in 1040? Thanks for the help.

On the 1099-R, box 2a should be a zero and code G should be in box 7.

In Lacerte, the Gross Distribution ix xxxx and the Taxable Amount is zero.
