| A client’s children received $10,000 each from an uncle who then issued them a 1099-Misc. The children did no work for the uncle. Uncle lives in another state. The children are both in there 20+. In my opinion the $10,000 should have been a gift but since the uncle issued them a 1099-Misc. I will need to pick it up as income. But, is it subject to self-employment tax? (I think it would be) Also, can I report the $ on line 21?

| How can it be SE income? Of course not. Don't doubt yourself, your instincts are dead on.
Yes, line 21. | |
