I have a client with a 1098t showing 9580 in box 4 of which 7330 is scholarships for 2005. It appears that the school applied the qualified fees in november, 2004.

is the $7330 of scholarships in 2005 taxable to the student in 2005 because of the situation of the fees applied in 2004. I did not do the 2004 tax return for the student.(actually no 2004 retuen was filed.

Hi,
I am a new H1B visa holder and recently finished my graduate studies. Apart from the W-2 form from my employer, I got a 1098-T form from my school. I didnot know how to include that in my tax returns. Can anyone help me?? Thanks

I usually net that with a qualified education expense.

Infotax Square:

YOU CAN EITHER APPLY IT ON LINE-27 AS ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME FORM-1040 OR LINE-49 EDUCATION CREDIT.
