Somewhere last year I read that the IRS was changing the due date of the 1065 to March 15th and the extended date to 9/15th so that taxpayers who are getting K-1s from partnerships will have time to receive the K-1s and still get their tax returns prepared on time (such as K-1s from S Corps). This makes sense to me. But I have checked the IRS calendar of due dates and it still says 4/15th. Did anyone else hear of this change or did my imagination make this up when I was still receiving partnership K-1s on 10/14th???

The original due date remains 4/15, but the extension is only for 5 months, to 9/15. Also applies to the 1041 and 8804, in addition to the 1065. You can see the 2008 Form 7004 (part 1 deals with 5 month extensions).
