Decedent passed away in 2006.

This is an estate, not a trust. 2 beneficiaries 2 1099R's 1099R issued to federal id # of estate in 2007. 1099R issued to 1 of beneficiaries social security # in 2007.

I assume the 1099R that is issued to beneficiary does not go on 1041 and is taxable to that beneficiary. How is the other 1099R handled? If money stayed in the estate as of 12/31/07, then does the estate pay the taxes and when monies are distributed to the beneficiaries in 2008, is it nontaxable to them?
